PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container for freight train transportation which can be carried with both a freight train and a truck, and by which since unloading these containers in a proper place can be carried out by a cargo handling gear of the truck, while promoting the improvement of transporting efficiency, the reduction of a distribution cost can be performed. SOLUTION: This is the container 8 for the freight train transportation capable of loading/unloading by using the cargo handling gear concerned on the truck provided with the cargo handling gear, a locking portion 81 in which the hook of the above cargo handling gear is free for lock and release is provided in the front face of a container body 8a, while a supporting member 82 is provided in the right and in the left of the bottom face of the front face side in which the locking portion 81 is provided, a supporting roller 83 is provided in the right and in the left of the bottom face on the opposite side, the above supporting member 82 and the supporting roller 83 are formed such that their storing is free in the side of the container body 8a or formed such that their attachment and their detachment are free from the container body 8a.
