PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive controller for a vehicle which is superior in reliability, being able to surely and quickly detect faults of a motor and urge the user of the repair of the motor. SOLUTION: This drive controller for a vehicle, which is equipped with a motor 7 driven by an engine 2, a motor 4 driven by the power supplied from the generator 7, and a controller 8 for controlling the drive of the motor 4 and is arranged to drive wheels 3L and 3R by means of the motor 4, is equipped with a counter electromotive voltage deciding means, which decides whether the voltage of the supply power from the generator 7 to the motor 4 is larger than the counter electromotive voltage of the motor 4, and a motor diagnosing means which decides, the propriety of the rotation of the motor 4 by supplying the motor 4 with power from the generator 7, thereby driving the motor when the voltage of the supply power from the generator 7 to the motor 4 is decided as being larger than the counter electromotive voltage of the motor 4, in a controller 8.
