PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulsator and a washing machine using the pulsator. SOLUTION: This pulsator is constituted by including an upper pulsator 100 made of a metal material and a lower pulsator made of a synthetic resin material. The upper pulsator 100 has an inlet 120 which is provided at the center, and a large number of upper washing ribs 110 which radially project to the upper side with the inlet 120 as the center. The lower pulsator includes a large number of lower washing ribs 210 which project to the upper side in a manner to be inserted in and fixed to the bottom surfaces of the upper washing ribs 110, a guiding surface 220 which is arranged in a manner to be separated from the bottom surface of the upper pulsator 110 and forms a channel for washing water which flows into a space to the upper pulsator 100 through the inlet 120, and an outlet 240 which is formed on the end of the guiding surface in such a manner that the washing water flowing through the channel may be drained to the lower side.
