PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shear for separating a segment of a raw material belt, particularly a steel cord belt drawn in by a gripper device holding the segment to be separated so that its attitude is fixed during a whole separating process and during delivery to a carrying-out belt, and preventing distortion and tilting. SOLUTION: The shear for separating the segment of the raw material belt 2, particularly the steel cord belt drawn in by the gripper device 6 is provided with a stationary lower blade 1, an upper blade 3 moving relatively with respect to the lower blade, and the carrying-out belt 4 comprising a plurality of horizontal partial belts 4a, 4b and 4c. A counter holder 5 holding the partial belt 4a of the carrying-out belt 4 from the side, supporting the raw material belt 2 during cutting, holding the rear end of a separated belt segment 2", and capable of traveling downward along the upper blade 3 while stabilizing the attitude of the segment 2" is provided below the upper blade 3.
