PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the favorable transferring to paper as a recording body or the like, prevent local uneven transferring from developing through the enough permeation of a thickened ink into the fibers of a paper, and improve the fixture of an image. SOLUTION: In an image forming method, a material 11, which thickens a liquid drop 31 through the contact with the liquid drop 31, is adhered onto a transferring body 21, and, next, in response to image signals, an image is formed on the material by the liquid drops 12 thickened through the contact with the liquid drop so as to obtain an image by transferring the thickened liquid drops to a recording body, the viscosity of the liquid drop thickened on the transferring body 21 is set to have an enough adhesive power to the recording body 42 and, at the same time, have a transferable viscosity to the recording body without separating the liquid drop into a transferring body side and a recording body side.
