PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas oil composition capable of extremely reducing an exhaust of particulate from an diesel engine in the whole load range of the engine. SOLUTION: This gas oil composition comprises contains >=500 mass ppm based on the whole amount of the composition of cetane number improver and at least one kind of a cleaner selected from the group consisting of an alkenylsuccinic acid derivative and a carboxylic acid amine salt, has >=45 cetane index, =1.7 mm2/s kinematic viscosity at 30 deg.C.
