A retractable antenna comprises an inner and outer cylindrical antenna 1 and 2, and an expanded tube 11 having a plurality of contacting pieces 12 with dimples 13 at the ends. The inner antenna is slidable mounted within the outer antenna. The inner antenna 1 is made by a punching machine and expanded in the external diameter thereof to form the expanded tube 11. The antenna can be used on portable radio and television.
