Baler having a longitudinal direction extending in the traveling direction of the baler, and a transverse direction, the baler comprising a frame, a gearbox (21), and a cross member (110) extending in the transverse direction for coupling a top part (44) of the gearbox (21) to the frame (11) and having a first end (111) coupled to the frame (11) and a second end (112) coupled to the frame (11), wherein said top part (44) of the gearbox (21) is coupled to the cross member (110) between said first end (111) and said second end (112); the cross member (110) is provided with a coupling flange (216; 316a,316b) extending perpendicular on the transverse direction, wherein said coupling flange is coupled with the top part (44) of the gearbox (21); wherein the coupling flange (216; 316a,316b) is clamped around the cross member (110) in a weld-free manner.
