A magnet assembly comprising a superconducting magnet coil system (M) and a superconducting current path (P), which parts of the magnet coil system (M), wherein on the current path (P) has two electrical connecting points (A1, A2, A3, A4) are mounted, which in the current path (P) has a section (P A1-A2, P A2-A3, P A3-A4) limit, wherein the section (P A1-A2, P A2-A3, P A3-A4) is not the totality of the current path comprises (P) contained parts of the magnet coil system (M), with a resistive element (W A1-A2, W A2-A3, W A3-A4) having an electrical resistance value greater than or equal to zero, and at least two contacts (K1, K2, K3, K4), said contacts (K1, K2, K3, K4) is W A1-A2, W disposed between the resistance element (A2-A3, W A3-A4) and a connecting point (A1, A2, A3, A4) , is characterized in that the superconducting state of the magnet coil system (M), an electrical contact (K1, K2, K3, K4) between an electrical connection point (A1, A2, A3, A4) and one resistive element (W A1-A2, W A2 -A3, W A3-A4) can be closed and opened. With the inventive magnet arrangement both a quench protection as well as an effective noise compensation is made possible.
