Eine Magnetanordnung mit einem supraleitenden Magnetspulensystem (M) und einem supraleitenden Strompfad (P), welcher Teile des Magnetspulensystems (M) umfasst, wobei auf dem Strompfad (P) zwei elektrische Anschlusspunkte (A1, A2, A3, A4) angebracht sind, welche innerhalb des Strompfades (P) einen Abschnitt (P A1-A2 , P A2-A3 , P A3-A4 ) begrenzen, wobei der Abschnitt (P A1-A2 , P A2-A3 , P A3-A4 ) nicht die Gesamtheit der im Strompfad (P) enthaltenen Teile des Magnetspulensystems (M) umfasst, mit einem Widerstandselement (W A1-A2 , W A2-A3 . W A3-A4 ) mit einem elektrischen Widerstandswert größer oder gleich null, und mit mindestens zwei Kontakten (K1, K2, K3, K4), wobei die Kontakte (K1, K2, K3, K4) zwischen dem Widerstandselement (W A1-A2 , W A2-A3 , W A3-A4 ) und einem Anschlusspunkt (A1, A2, A3, A4) angeordnet ist, ist dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass im supraleitenden Zustand des Magnetspulensystems (M) ein elektrischer Kontakt (K1, K2, K3, K4) zwischen einem elektrischen Anschlusspunkt (A1, A2, A3, A4) und einem Widerstandselement (W A1-A2 , W A2-A3 , W A3-A4 ) geschlossen und geöffnet werden kann. Mit der erfindungsgemäßen Magnetanordnung wird sowohl ein Quenchschutz als auch eine effektive Störkompensation ermöglicht.
