In a cutlery basket (5) for a dish-washing machine (1), in which the parts (6) of the individual items of cutlery to be washed and dried lying on their side in separate cutlery holders (9a) and cutlery supports (9b) can be laid one behind the other, the cutlery supports (9b) have supporting surfaces (11) with different profiles and/or are of various heights. This measure makes possible equal and optimal cleaning and drying of any desired parts (6) of various items of cutlery.
