The invention discloses a method for accomplishing backup in a server system comprising, initiating service processing program on N host machines and 1 reserve machine, N host machines working synergically while reserve machine dispatching chain circuit detecting IP message to other host machine via. a given frequency and waiting for their response so as to monitor their status. If it is confirmed that there is breakdown machine among reserve machines, changing arbitration data and notifying the new arbitration data to other business server, then restarting itself to be the new host machine. The invention not only guarantees the performance and stability of the short message equipment, but also saves the facility cost of the business processing server.
