The invention discloses a protection pressing plate state identification method based on chroma distortion and phase competition coding. The protection pressing plate state identification method comprises the following steps: extracting a target image to obtain a pressing plate key area as a target area; and detecting and identifying the state of the pressing plate in the target area. Depending ona centralized remote image monitoring system in an electric power system, the protection pressing plate state identification method quickly identifies the state of the pressing plate by combining with an image; firstly, chroma distortion is combined to complete pressing plate key area extraction so as to avoid interference of a complex background while the extracted key area is processed throughphase competition coding, and the angle corresponding to the pressing plate is obtained; and according to the angle, exiting is set when the angle is larger than 20 degrees, and entering is set when the angle is smaller than 5 degrees. The protection pressing plate state identification method can be applied to rapid identification of the state of the pressing plate based on the image and phase characteristics.
