The invention relates to a method for operating at least one apparatus for additively manufacturing three-dimensional objects by means of successive layerwise selective irradiation and consolidation of layers of a build material which can be consolidated by means of an energy source, wherein slice data are provided relating to an application of build material in at least one section of an object to be built, the slice data comprise a number of slices relating to corresponding layers of build material to be applied, the slice data comprise a number of first slices corresponding to a first section of the object and at least a number of second slices corresponding to at least a second section of the object, the number of first slices and the number of second slices differ, the number of firstslices per section height and the number of second slices per section height and/or the number of first slices per unit length and the number of second slices per unit length differ. The invention further relates to the apparatus for additively manufacturing three-dimensional objects and a section device thereof.
