The invention discloses a tertbutyl alcohol refining catalyst as well as a preparation method and application thereof. The catalyst comprises the following materials: Silicate-1 and HZSM-5 with the total content being 0.1 to 10 percent by taking the weight of the catalyst as a datum, P element with the content being 0.01 to 10 percent in P2O5, VIII family noble metal with the content being 0.01 to10 percent, and inorganic refractory oxide for the surplus, wherein the weight ratio of the Silicate-1 to the HZSM-5 is 1:(0.1-10). A preparation method of the refining catalyst comprises the following steps: preparing a composite carrier containing the Silicate-1, HZSM-5, P2O5 and inorganic refractory oxide through an in-situ synthesis method; loading the carrier with the VIII family noble metal, so as to prepare the catalyst. The catalyst has excellent removal capacity on impurities, such as organic peroxide and organic acid ester, in tertbutyl alcohol, and ensures that the impurity removalrate is 99 percent or greater than 99 percent.
