The invention relates to the field of oil and gas drilling, in particular to a modified silica material suitable for use as a fluorocarbon active agent super-amphiphobic chip-carrying agent for water-based drilling fluid, a preparation method and the application thereof. The preparation method of the modified silica material comprises the following steps: performing a first contact reaction on silica with a silane coupling agent represented by formula (1) in a mixed solvent containing an alcohol and water; performing a second contact reaction on the product of the first contact reaction with acompound represented by formula (2) and a compound represented by formula (3); and performing a third contact reaction on the product of the second contact reaction with a compound represented by formula (4). The modified silica material can be used as a chip-carrying agent in the water-based drilling fluid and achieves an excellent chip-carrying effect.
