The invention discloses a method of removing organic matters in a zinc sulfate solution of zinc hydrometallurgy by ultraviolet irradiation. The method comprises the following steps: taking ultravioletlight as a light source to irradiate the zinc sulfate solution for a photooxidation irradiation reaction; and then leaving the solution to stand to remove the organic matters in the zinc sulfate solution. The highly acidic zinc sulfate solution (an acid leached supernate or an acid leached lixivium in a first oxidization section) generates .SO4<-> free radicals with strong oxidizing properties byadditionally applying ultraviolet light source irradiation without using any oxidizing agents and photocatalysts at a constant temperature and at a constant pressure, and the organic matters can be decomposed into carbon dioxide and water, so that the problem that the organic matters in the zinc sulfate solution are too high and are hard to remove is solved effectively, the production cost is lowered and the removal rate of the organic matters in zinc sulfate is improved. The invention provides a novel method of removing the organic matters in the zinc sulfate solution in a zinc hydrometallurgical process effectively, and the method is suitable for industrial production.
