The invention relates to a semiconductor device and a manufacturing method thereof. The semiconductor device comprises a substrate; color filtering elements on the substrate; and an isolating structure between the adjacent color filtering elements, wherein the insulating structure comprises first isolators which are adjacent with the color filtering elements and a second isolator between the firstisolators. A clearance exists between the adjacent isolators in the first isolators and the second isolator.
