The invention discloses a ball screw driven elevator. The ball screw driven elevator is provided with an elevator shaft system, a manned lifting system, a threaded rod type power mechanism, a ball screw type power mechanism, a door system, an upper bracket, a lower bracket and a control system. The manned lifting system at least comprises a manned lifting platform, a guide rail and a guide shoe. The threaded rod type power mechanism comprises a first power machine, a nut, a threaded rod, and the first power machine is connected with the threaded rod. The ball screw type power mechanism comprises a second power machine, a thread, a screw and a ball, and the second power machine is connected with the screw. The upper bracket and the lower bracket are used for supporting the threaded rod andthe screw. The nut and the thread are both fixedly connected with the manned lifting platform. When the elevator operates, the threaded rod and the screw are rotated, and the nut and the thread make linear movement. The threaded rod type power mechanism and the ball screw type power mechanism are in linkage, the nut and the thread are equal in movement speed, the manned lifting platform is pushedby the thread or the nut to operate, and the threaded rod type power mechanism is further used for self locking in the elevator operation process.
