The invention relates to a light-weight, heat-prevention and heat-insulation composite material and a preparation method thereof and belongs to the technical field of functional composite materials and technologies. Inorganic fibers and organic fibers are compounded to prepare composite fibers; after the organic fibers are introduced, the fiber density is remarkably reduced; meanwhile, a good enhancing effect is kept. The composite material is a staple fiber enhanced phenolic resin based composite material and is applicable to molding technological methods including die pressing, overlaying and the like. Aiming at a staple fiber/phenolic resin based composite material, the light-weight organic fibers and light-weight filling particles are introduced to carry out light-weight modification and the prepared phenolic resin based light-weight, heat-prevention and heat-insulation composite material is applicable to die pressing, isostatic pressing or overlaying and molding of a heat-prevention and heat-insulation product.
