The invention relates to a wood drying method for basswood. The wood drying method comprises the following steps that (1) the basswood is sawed and cut into board materials with the required size; (2)the board materials are placed in a wood drying chamber, and steam drying is conducted by adopting an intermittent heating method; (3) the temperature of the wood drying chamber is decreased at different speeds according to the thicknesses of the board materials; (4) after the step (2) and the step (3) are repeated for several times and after the board materials are preferably selected for threetimes, an anti-cracking agent is smeared on the board materials, and then microwave and ultrasonic drying are conducted; and (5) thermal convection drying is conducted on the board materials processedby the step (4), and dry board materials are finally obtained. According to the wood drying method for basswood, by adopting the intermittent heating drying method and smearing through the anti-cracking agent, the phenomenon of wood cracking of the basswood is greatly reduced.
