Disclosed is a tamper-evident closure, comprising a top wall portion, and an annular skirt portion depending downwardly therefrom, the annular skirt portion including upper and lower portions and a circumferential fracturable region defined to extend between the upper and lower portions of the skirt portion, a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart wedge-shaped tongues depending downwardly from the skirt portion beneath the fracturable region, the wedge-shaped tongues each including a vertical surface and an inclined surface, wherein the inclined surface is inclined away from a longitudinal axis of the closure assembly, and a lower sleeve portion configured to surround a spout of an associated container, and defining a plurality of recesses configured to respectively accept the wedge-shaped tongues, the top wall portion and the upper skirt portion being removable from the lower skirt portion by fracture of the fracturable region. A container including the tamper-evident closure and a tamper-evident closure assembly are further disclosed.
