The present invention discloses a geostationary orbit high-resolution infrared area array staring camera system. The system comprises a geostationary orbit infrared light shielding cover, a geostationary orbit infrared optical system, a focusing mechanism, a geostationary orbit infrared calibration assembly, a geostationary orbit infrared large-area array focal plane assembly, a refrigeration assembly and a geostationary orbit infrared signal processing device; the infrared optical system acquires ground object radiation signals in a detection area; the focusing mechanism makes the geostationary orbit infrared optical system output corrected ground object radiation signals; the geostationary orbit infrared large-area array focal plane assembly samples the corrected ground object radiation signals, converts the corrected ground object radiation signals into electric signals and inputs the electric signals into the geostationary orbit infrared signal processing device; and the geostationary orbit infrared signal processing device amplifies, filters and encodes the electrical signals so as to obtain ground object image signals. With the geostationary orbit high-resolution infrared area array staring camera system of the invention adopted, the problem that a camera is difficult to balance high time resolution and high spatial resolution can be solved.
