The invention provides a surface treatment method of a die casting and the die casting. The surface treatment method comprises the steps of carrying out pre-electroplating treatment on the surface of the die casting to form an electroplated coating, and covering and filling surface defect positions of the die casting with the electroplated coating; carrying out polishing treatment on the electroplated coating on the surface of the die casting till the surface of the electroplated coating is flat and uniform; and carrying out surface decoration treatment on the polished electroplated coating, so as to obtain a die casting outer surface which meets the application requirement. According to the technical scheme provided by the invention, appearance pit defects like pores, sand holes and pin holes in the surface of the die casting are overcome, and deformation and chromatic aberration of a die casting product are avoided.
