The invention discloses a ring network signal transmission method capable of identifying a sequence and quantity of stations. The method comprises the steps that a certain number of signal receiving channels and signal sending channels are set for each station, wherein the quantity of the signal receiving channel is not smaller than the total quantity of the stations in a ring network; the signal receiving channels of the station receive signal data packets sent by the signal sending channels of the last station; the signal data packets of the stations are sent to a first signal sending channel; the signal data packets received by the first to the penultimate signal receiving channels of the station are sent to the second to the last signal sending channels of the station; and the signal data packets received by the last signal receiving channel are discarded; the signal data packets of the signal sending channels of the station are sent to the next station; and the signal data packets are successively shifted and forwarded, and the quantity of the stations and the positions of the stations in the ring network are judged according to the content of the signal data packets in the signal receiving channels and the positions of the channels in which the signal data packets are located.
