The invention discloses a high-voltage electrical equipment high-current impulse counting device. The device comprises an energy storage transformer and a high-current signal acquisition transformer which are in electrical connection with each other, wherein the energy storage transformer is in electrical connection with the grounding end of high-voltage electrical equipment; a rectifying module and an energy storage module are sequentially connected to the energy storage transformer; a triggering module, a counting module and a display module are sequentially connected to the high-current signal acquisition transformer; the energy storage module is connected to the counting module; the triggering module is in electrical connection with the energy storage module. The invention further discloses a counting method of the counting device. The device and the method are high in accuracy, adjustable in threshold, and low in energy consumption.
