The invention discloses a kinematic model for the strip winding process. The kinematic model comprises the following steps that step 1, all variables of the strip winding process are defined; step 2, superposition rate of the strip winding process is defined; and step 3, the kinematic and parameter relation of the strip winding process is described according to the geometrical relation of kinematic rules and parameters so that a kinematic mathematical expression of the strip winding process is derived. The strip winding technological process is analyzed by adopting the kinematic law in view of the current situation that the existing strip winding process lacks guidance of theoretical formulas and automation reconstruction cannot be realized so that the general kinematic model for the strip winding process and a use method thereof are put forward, and thus theoretical foundation is laid for automation of the strip winding process.
