A drive device has a transmission-accommodating part for accommodating a transmission and a differential-accommodating part for accommodating a differential device, the drive device is provided with a transmission case positioned forward of the dashboard of the vehicle and linked to one vehicle-widthwise end of an engine, and an electric motor is attached to the outer periphery of the transmission case so as to be positioned forward of the differential-accommodating part. An opening through which an output shaft of a reduction gear is inserted is formed in the side wall of the transmission case on the side opposite the engine in the vehicle-widthwise direction in the differential-accommodating part, and a reduction gear case is attached to the side wall of the transmission case.
