The method includes the steps of controlling the transceiver to obtain infrared signals of keys included by remote controllers corresponding to the household appliances; controlling the transceiver to convert the infrared signals into electrical signals, and carrying out storing after the electrical signals are coded; controlling the transceiver to send storage addresses of codes of the electrical signals corresponding to the keys to a smart phone; if the transceiver receives control signals which are transmitted by the smart phone and include the storage addresses of the codes of the electrical signals, controlling the transceiver to take out the codes of the corresponding electrical signals from the storage addresses; controlling the transceiver to decode the codes of the electrical signals, then carrying out conversion to obtain the infrared signals, and transmitting the infrared signals. By means of the method and device in the technical scheme, the freedom degree generated when the multiple household appliances are controlled can be increased.
