The present invention relates to a battery module including: a first battery cell; first and second side portions; a frame member having first, second, third, and fourth side walls; and first and second thermally conductive plate members. Multiple flow channels are formed by the first and second thermally conductive plates. The third side wall has a first discharge port which is configured to accommodate a first electrode terminal of the first battery cell. The first discharge port is configured to discharge gas out of the frame member from the first battery cell in the event the first battery cell discharges the gas such that the gas is separated from the air flowing through the multiple flow channels.
