The invention relates to a wall climbing cleaning robot for a container and a pipeline. The wall climbing cleaning robot comprises a cleaning device, a left track assembly, a right track assembly and a transmission mechanism; the left track assembly and the right track assembly are arranged at two sides of the transmission mechanism and are respectively in transmission connection with the transmission mechanism. The wall climbing cleaning robot further comprises connecting rod mechanisms; a plurality of absorbing trays capable of being absorbed on the wall are arranged on the left track assembly and the right track assembly; the connecting rods are arranged in the left track assembly and the right track assembly; the transmission mechanism drives the connecting rod mechanisms to apply a pressure to the absorbing trays to be clung to the pipe wall. According to the wall climbing cleaning robot for the container and the pipeline, the absorbing trays can be absorbed by a pure mechanical driving manner, instead of generating a negative pressure through an extra device; tracks cannot be fixed with an electromagnetic force; the absorbing trays are not fixed by a vacuum pumping manner; therefore, the weight of the device can be reduced, the costs of design and manufacturing are decreased, and the fault rate is reduced.
