The invention relates to a design method for a cable sheath circulating-current compensation device, which belongs to the technical field of electric engineering. The design method comprises the following steps: determining the number of turns of a winding, determining the section area of an iron core, determining the section area of the winding conductive wire of the compensation device, carrying out dynamic stability verification, and adjusting the air gap width of the compensation device.
