The invention relates to a biodegradable modified bamboo composite material and a preparation method thereof. Matrix resin of the biodegradable modified bamboo composite material is polybutylene succinate (PBS), and the bamboo material is modified bamboo fiber or modified bamboo powder. The preparation method of the biodegradable modified bamboo composite material comprises the following steps: firstly modifying the surface of the bamboo material by using a surface modifier; subsequently blending the modified bamboo material with polyester resin, extruding and carrying out injection molding, thereby finally obtaining the biodegradable bamboo composite material. The preparation method is simple and feasible, high in production efficiency and low in cost; the prepared biodegradable bamboo composite material is economic, environmental friendly and good in using performance.
