The invention specifically relates to a gas monitoring alarm device and an application method thereof, which are used for monitoring whether gases harmful to human bodies are included in air at a construction site or not. The device comprises an alarm circuit and a fire source, wherein the alarm circuit consists of a power supply, a first alarm, a second alarm and a thermo-switch; the first alarm and the second alarm form a parallel circuit; the circuit, the power supply and the thermo-switch form a series circuit; and the fire source is positioned just below the thermo-switch. The device has the advantages of simple structure, low cost and capabilities of monitoring types and rough contents of the gases included in the air at the construction site in real time and emitting an alarm and effectively preventing construction personnel from inhaling the gases harmful to the human bodies.
