Provided is a connector wherein the intermeshing direction dimension thereof is made to be smaller. A contact (11) has a holding section (111) that is inserted into the connector from a direction that intersects at right angles with the intermeshing direction of the connector, and is held by a housing (12); a contact section (112) that is connected to the holding section (111), and extends in the intermeshing direction of the connector; and a connection section (113) that extends from the holding section (111), and that is to be connected to an LED mounted circuit board. The housing (12) has a housing body (121) that is to be inserted into a hole formed on the LED mounted circuit board, and a top board section (122) provided on the housing body (121). The contact section (112) is housed in the housing body (121), and connector receiving sections (121a, 121b) for receiving cable connectors are provided on the housing body (121). A contact housing section (122a) that extends to the connector receiving sections (121a, 121b), and houses the holding section (111), is provided on the top board section (122). A slot (121c), through which the contact (11) is inserted into the connector receiving sections (121a, 121b) and the contact housing section (122a), from a direction that intersects at right angles wit the intermeshing direction of the connector, is provided on the housing body (121).
