The invention discloses an ethanol preparation method. The method comprises the following steps: raw materials are conveyed along a conveyer line; the conveyed raw materials are crushed; the crushed raw materials are made into slurry; the slurry is processed by enzymolysis to obtain hydrolysate; and the hydrolysate is fermented to produce ethanol. The method also comprises the step for cleaning raw materials conveyed along the conveyer line. According to the ethanol preparation method provided by the invention, sundry removal can be conducted while the raw materials are conveyed along the conveyer line, so that sundries in the raw materials are removed. Therefore, when the cleaned raw materials are being crushed, various sundries are not mixed in the raw materials, so as to prevent the subsequent enzymolysis, fermentation and other procedures from adverse effects of the sundries. The method is particularly suitable for removing soft and light sundries.
