本发明得到一种上下进给缝纫机，其即使缝制形状、布料种类发生变化，也可以使缝边稳定，提高缝制品质。在上下进给缝纫机(100)中，各按压单元(6、10)与通电的电流量对应地，经由各滚轮(3、7)自由调节对被缝制物的按压力，具有：指定单元(80)，其在被缝制物的缝制时，指定调节各滚轮对被缝制物的按压力的缝制区间；以及按压力控制单元(13)，其在由指定单元指定的缝制区间内，对向各按压单元通电的电流量进行控制，以使各滚轮的按压力成为指定的按压力。

A top and bottom feed sewing machine (100) includes pressing means (6, 10) configured to press rollers (3, 7) toward a workpiece with a pressing force which is adjustable in accordance with an amount of electric current supplied. The top and bottom feed sewing machine (100) further includes a setting means (80) configured to set an adjustment period in which the pressing force is adjusted and an adjusted pressing force, and a pressing force control means (13) configured to control the amount of electric current to be supplied to each of the pressing means (6, 10) such that, in the adjustment period, the pressing force of each of the rollers (3, 7) is adjusted to the adjusted pressing force.
