The mobile phone is provided with a Chinese input method switching key, a display screen and a plurality of keys which are used for switching to a Chinese input method. The method comprises the following steps: the mobile phone detects that the Chinese input method switching key is triggered and switched to the corresponding Chinese input method; a plurality of keys of the mobile phone are triggered according to the switched-to Chinese input method to input messages to the mobile phone; if the mobile phone does not detect that the keys are triggered within a regulated time; a group of a plurality of numbers corresponding to a plurality of triggered keys and a plurality of letters corresponding to the last one triggered key are displayed on the display screen of the mobile phone; and the mobile phone detects that corresponding keys are triggered and switched to the corresponding input state, and the characters corresponding to the input state are input.
