The invention discloses a peer-to-peer networking (P2P) communication method in IPv4 and IPv6 coexisting network. A dual-protocol stack server running a Tracker and an IPv4/IPv6 dual-protocol stack router supporting network address translation-port translation (NAT-PT) function are arranged in the IPv4 and IPv6 coexisting network; an IPv4 Peer or IPv6 Peer unloads P2P seed files; Tracker server information is extracted from the seed files; the IPv4 Peer or IPv6 Peer registers to the Tracker server to obtain neighbor node information; the IPv6 Peer initiates connection to establish handshake interactive relation with the IPv4 Peer; address translation is finished through the router so that resource interaction between the IPv4 Peer and IPv6 Peer and interworking between IPv4 network and IPv6 network are realized. The method not only solves communication problem of IP protocols of different versions, but also has important significance to popularize IPv6 by providing the communication mechanism of Peers of different versions.
