The invention discloses an image processing method, which comprises the steps of acquiring image information and judging whether the width height proportion of the image is accordant with that of the display screen; if so, displaying the image; otherwise, enlarging the image to lead the image size to be accordant with the display screen size; fuzzifying the enlarged image; leading the image with original size to be centralized and overlapped on the fuzzified image so as to synthetize a new image; and displaying the new image on the display screen. In addition, the invention also provides an electronic device with image processing function. By the method and the electronic device, when the width height proportion of the image is not accordant with that of the display screen, the background color of the display screen can be substituted by the essential tone of the image through a simple method so as to lead the image display to be more concordant.
