Ethanolamine glyceryl ether condensation products of the formula (I) are described, in which R<1>, R<2> and R<3> may each independently be the same or different and are each hydrogen, a linear or branched, saturated alkyl chain having from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, a linear or branched unsaturated alkenyl group having from 2 to 20 carbon atoms, -CH2-CH2-OH or a radical of the formula (II), with the proviso that at least one of the R<1>, R<2> and R<3> radicals is a radical of the formula (II) and at least one further radical of the R<1>, R<2> and R<3> radicals is selected from -CH2-CH2-OH and radicals of the formula (II).
