摘要： Weapon simulators and components for a weapon simulator are provided. In particular, a lower receiver for a weapon simulator is provided. In preferred embodiments, the lower receiver comprises a first air pressure regulator contained within the lower receiver and a second air pressure regulator contained within the lower receiver and designed to supply a higher pressure compressed air than the first air pressure regulator. The first output of the first air pressure regulator controls the second output of the second air pressure regulator. The lower receiver is designed to have the higher pressure compressed air from the second air pressure regulator drive a simulation component.

A user tracks and/or aims for the projected target using a firearm comprising a camera and a camera activation device. When the target reaches a desirable location and the proper alignment of the firearm takes place, the user presses a trigger of a firearm in order to take an image and establish a recording time mark of the area in view of the camera as the camera sees at the moment in time. The camera comprises a preprogrammed template of the expected target, and the captured image is processed in order to determine whether the captured image matches all of the projected image or a part of the projected image. A response is activated to indicate that the target has been struck or missed.

The shooter's hands remain in the firing position, and just the trigger finger and trigger are employed. With dry fire practice, each time a shot is simulated, the shooter must remove a hand from the weapon and ratchet the slide to reset the firing pin, allowing the trigger to return to its unfired position. This invention, after being inserted into the weapon's empty magazine compartment, provides realistic live-fire muscle-memory training by duplicating the action of the trigger, the feel and the sound of the release of the firing pin, and the resetting of the trigger for additional trigger activations.
