    • The present invention relates to a coupler connection structure for interconnecting pipes. Particularly, the coupler connection structure comprises a circular coupler link body segmented into three parts which connected via respective hinges. The circular coupler link body has a flange with a guide groove corresponding to a guide protrusion protruding from the flange, such that two flanges are coupled together in a firmer and safer manner, and such that a firmer and safer coupling can be visually recognized. The coupler connection structure of the present invention achieves improved water-tightness by a packing fitted between lap joint balancing portions of a lap joint.

    • A clamp (41) for quick release of a generally rectangular bonnet (31) to the flange (22) of a valve body (21) is disclosed. The upper side of the edge of the rectangular bonnet (31) is formed with a bevel (39) of about 20 degrees and the lower edge of the body flange is formed with a similar bevel (28). The clamp (41) consists of semi-circular ends (48) and straight sides (46) hinged together. One side is split and connected by a toggle latch (62). In cross section, each clamp section is generally C-shaped, with the top and bottom arms (43) of the C being beveled so that as the clamp sections are drawn inward the bevels (28, 39, 43) wedge the bonnet (31) against the flange (22). Locating pins (37) fitting into holes (36) in the plate and flange locate the parts and resist implosion when the valve body (21) is subjected to vacuum. To maintain uniform clamping force around the circumference of the bonnet (31) the bevels (28) at the middles of the sides (24) may be less wide than at the ends (23).

    • A clamping system and method for use in a fluid coupling assembly may include redundant locking features for connecting adjacent ends of fluid conduits such as aircraft fuel lines. The exemplary clamping system (20) may make use of two draw latch mechanisms (28,28') that each separately apply a spring loaded clamping force to a flex band assembly (25) through corresponding draw springs (40,40') which oppose one another. Thus, either latch mechanism (28,28') may provide a draw latch function by providing a clamping force to the flex band assembly (25), which in turn holds the end flanges (32,34) of the fluid conduits (22,24) together, thereby providing a sealing connection to facilitate the transfer of a fluid there between. Using two opposed draw latch mechanisms (28,28') provides for redundant clamping forces such that the failure of one of the mechanisms does not result in an inadvertent disconnection of the fluid conduits one from the other.
