Um auf möglichst einfache Weise eine weitere Reduktion der Emissionen und des Kraftstoffverbrauches zu ermöglichen, ist vorgesehen, dass das in der Mischkammer (13) enthaltene flüssige Medium durch ein Dispersionsmedium (16) gebildet wird, wobei das Dispersionsmedium (16) durch ein Gemisch aus Wasser und Kraftstoff gebildet wird, und dass das gasförmige Dispersionsmedium im, im Einlasstrakt (7) angeordneten Wärmetauscher (10) thermische Energie aus dem Abgas aufnimmt.
