    • The invention provides a novel sewing machine for carrying out in an improved manner sewing operations carried out by conventional sewing machines as well as operations that conventional sewing machines cannot perform, such as bonding fabrics without the use of threads and creating ornamental patterns in fabrics. The novel sewing machine comprises one or more containers (15) for one or more radiation curable polymer precursors, one or more injector (15-20, 28) devices for injecting the precursor(s) at selected targets, one or more sources (16) of curing radiation, dosing means for determining the volume of the precursor charge injected at each injection, and means (21) for synchronically activating the injector device and the radiation source. The polymer precursor(s) are injected in the fluid state at the selected target(s) and are then cured by polymerization or cross-linking to acquire a solid state. The novel sewing machine can also include one or more components of prior art sewing machines for the purpose of carrying out any desired operation that said components can carry out.

    • A multifunction static device for industrial sewing machines of the type comprising a foot-holder bar (2), fixed to which is a presser foot (3)', and a needle (4) moved by a needle-holder bar (.5), said device being characterized in that it substantially comprises a thin shaped tube (1), made of material resistant to impact and to wear, such as for example stainless steel, which is firmly constrained to said foot-holder bar (2) and envisages a bottom end (7) set alongside the needle (4) and facing in a direction transverse thereto in order to cool it during its axial movement, as well as a top end (14), which is connected to a compressed-air system of the production line or to another compressed-air sources, wherein the air delivered by the bottom end (7) of the tube (1) is managed and regulated by two purposely provided solenoid valves: a first solenoid valve is designed to activate/deactivate the emission of air for cooling the needle (4).during execution of the sewing operation, whilst a second solenoid valve is designed to activate/deactivate the emission - from the same bottom end (7) of said tube (1) - of an appropriate jet of air after the end of the sewing operation and/or of an appropriate jet of air immediately before start of the sewing operation to perform a thread-wiper function; for said purpose, the position of the bottom end (7) of the tube (1) is located at a height that substantially corresponds to the eye of the needle (4) when it is in the top resting position, or else immediately below the eye of the needle.
