    • A support frame assembly (1) for conveyor rollers (154) comprising first and second support means (10, 12) adapted to be located on respective sides of a conveyor belt (152). The assembly (1) also comprising at least two roller support members (14) with each roller support member arranged to support a respective conveyor roller (154) such that said roller support members extend between said first and second support means. The support means comprises a support member (16) and a slidable member (18) that is slidable relative to said support member. The support means also comprises a fixing means for fixing said slidable member in at least one position along said support member. In the at least one position the conveyor belt is supported in an elevated position relative to adjacent conveyor rollers.

    • A tensioner for maintaining engagement of a conveyor belt cleaner, including one or more scraper blades mounted on a rotatable support frame, with a conveyor belt. The tensioner includes a mounting member attached to the support frame for conjoint rotation therewith, a biasing member attached to the mounting member, and an actuator attached to the biasing member. Operation of the actuator stores a biasing force within the biasing member which in turn rotates the scraper blades into full-face engagement with the conveyor belt. As the scraper blades wear, the biasing member continues to rotate the blades into full-face engagement with the conveyor belt with a biasing force that changes in magnitude. The scraper blades include a blade face having an area which changes as the blades wear, in order to maintain a substantially constant contact pressure between the blades and the conveyor belt as the blades wear.

    • A reversible belt scraper is provided with opposite belt scraping surfaces (22, 24) and is adapted to be reversed by inverting. The belt scraper is formed with a pair of metal side frames (14, 15), and a transversely elongated body (30) is formed as a block of rubber defining the belt scraping surfaces on opposite sides. A pair of fiberboard backing plates (40) are positioned to support the rubber block against forces tending to bend or deflect the rubber. The fiberboard backing plates wear at a rate faster than the wear rate of the rubber block and assure full contact between the belt and the rubber scraping body. In a further embodiment, ceramic bricks (121) are embedded within the rubber block with wear surfaces at the rubber scraping surface. The rubber, brick and backing plates are formed in modular segments which are stacked end-to-end between the frames and retained by metal slugs (18) which extend through the segments.
