    • A novel interactive event guide system and method which allows users to select events from a set of event listings and to obtain additional information and/or services relevant to the selected events. The additional information and/or services can include access to E-commerce sites offering products related to an event selected from the event listings, access to sites offering additional information relating to products advertised during a selected event and/or products advertised by product placements within a selected event and/or access to social networking services. Demographic information about the user can be provided to an advertiser of a selected event to allow the advertiser to provide appropriate additional information to the user and/or to allow the advertiser to better analyze the success of their advertisement.

    • A system allows large numbers of users to engage in on-line, multi-user shows that are synchronized to broadcasts of prerecorded or live shows and also simultaneously aggregates user input from such shows and feeds it back into the broadcast. First, a user launches client application on an Internet-accessible platform. The client application connects to a multi-user server system. This multi-user server system allows all of the concurrent users to engage in a single multi-user, on-line activity that can run independently or in synchronization with a broadcast. The multi-user server system is also capable of running numerous on-line activities simultaneously, each of which can be synchronized to a separate broadcast. As the users interact with the on-line activities, the multi-user server system can aggregate data relating to the users or their actions, save this data in a database, and feed this back into the broadcast. The multi-user server system also includes the ability to send messages to all the users or specific groups of users, adjust the synchronization of the on-line shows, schedule on-line shows, and create scripts for running the shows in synchronization with the broadcasts.

    • Using a mobile station (10), a user sends a signal for requesting a broadcast station (70) to distribute music to a distribution management server (60). The request signal contains a tune ID on the tune that the user wants to be distributed and the address where the user wants it to be distributed. When the distribution management server (60) receives a request signal, if the tune is unpopular, the tune data and a decoding key to decode the tune data are sent to the mobile station (10) or an STB(40); however, if popular, only the decoding key is sent to the mobile station (10) or the STB (40). The mobile station (10) or the STB (40), if unpopular, decodes the tune data received from the distribution management server (60) with the decoding key; however, if popular, it receives the tune data through the broadcasting wave supplied from the broadcasting station (70) and decodes the tune data with the decoding key received from the distribution management server (60).
