    • The invention relates to a device (1) which is used to lead a high voltage line through a wall, comprising an insulator (2) which extends in a longitudinal direction, a high voltage line (10) which extends in a longitudinal manner through the insulator (2), a connection (9) which is arranged on an end side of the insulator (2), said connection being used to connect a connection line which is located on a high voltage potential. Said device also comprises a securing section (5) which is used to secure the device (1) to the wall with the aid of a current interruption. According to the invention the high voltage conductor (10) is connected to at least one power semi-conductor component (11) corresponding to a control line. Said power semi-conductor component is oriented in order to interrupt the current flowing through the high voltage line (10). Each power semi-conductor element (11) is supported on the wall by the securing section (5).

    • An optoelectronic device is provided that includes a thyristor detector/emitter device (16) having an input port (29) and an output port (27). The thyristor detector/emitter device (16) is adapted to detect an input optical pulse (15) supplied to the input port (29) and to produce an output optical pulse (12) (via laser emission) and an output electrical pulse (14) in response to the detected input optical pulse (15). The output optical pulse (12) is output via the output port (27). An optical feedback path is operably coupled between the output port (27) and the input port (29) of the thyristor detector/emitter device (16). The optical feedback path supplies a portion of the output optical pulse (12) produced by the thyristor detector/emitter device (16) to the input port (29), thereby causing the thyristor detector/emitter device (16) to produce a sequence of output optical pulses (12) and a corresponding sequence of output electrical pulses (14). Preferably, the optical feedback path comprises a programmable optical delay line realized by a network of in-plane waveguide structures and directional coupler devices (26-1 - 26-M) that are integrally formed with the thyristor device structure of the detector/emitter device (16). Other optoelectronic devices are realized with the thyristor detector/emitter (16).

    • A solid-state relay comprises a first external connection terminal connected to one end of a main switching device, a second external connection terminal connected to the other end of main switching, so that a series circuit of a load and power supply may be connected between the two external connection terminals. The solid-state relay further comprises a third external connection terminal that is connected with the second external connection terminal through a capacitor. The third external connection terminal is connected to the common connection of the load and the power supply that are connected in series between the first and second external connection terminals, with the result that the resistance of the resistor and the capacitance of the capacitor form an RC filter circuit to prevent the emission of noises. The solid-state relay thus produces less EMI noise (terminal noise voltage) and it can be manufactured without a substantial increase in cost or size.

    • The invention discloses an electrical isolator circuit comprising: an input stage comprising a transmitter of an opto-isolator; and an output stage comprising: a receiver of the opto-isolator; an active circuit in series with the receiver between the receiver and a power rail of the output stage; a first resistor connected to an output of the active circuit, and an input for the application of a predetermined voltage to the active circuit, the output stage being configured such that a varying output voltage is developed across the first resistor in response to input of a high voltage AC signal to the input stage. Ideally the output stage is operable to clamp the voltage across the receiver at the level of the predetermined voltage, thereby allowing for an increase in the load resistor and variable output resistor without increasing the time constant to unacceptably having regards to switching requirements.
