    • The invention refers to automatics and electrotechnics and can be used for bipolar control of four-phase step motor acting in the electrical drives of the executive mechanisms of robots, machine tool control systems and computer peripherals. The purpose of the invention is broadening of functional possibilities and spheres of implementation through ensuring 12-, 6-, 4- and 3-tact modes of phase, as well as increase in accuracy, smoothness and uniformity of its rotation. One of the significant peculiarities of the proposed method and the device is that within all phase commutation modes, the positions of torque vectors do not coincide with the poles of the four-phase step motor. This allows to avoid the possible influence of non-linearities of the motor magnet system (e.g. influence of saturation) and, thus, increase to a higher extent the accuracy of adjustment of single steps.

The device for realization of the proposed method contains three bridge power amplifiers, source of reference voltage, resistive voltage divider, on 5R+3R resistors, six groups of analogous keys and reversible impulse distributor. Another important peculiarity of the proposed method and the device for its realization can be considered the fact that for their utilization for the control of three-phase step motor single angles of vector moment rotation are developed, which are peculiar to two-phase and four-phase step motors as well.

The purpose of the invention is simplification, expansion of functional possibilities and implementation sphere, increase of smoothness of distribution of vector absolute value and rotation angles of the resulting torque of the motor, increase in accuracy and evenness of its movement. This is achieved through ensuring of 12-,6-,4- and 3-tact phase commutation modes with angles of 30, 60, 90 and120 degrees. One of the significant peculiarities of the proposed method and the device for its realization is that within all ensured phase commutation modes the positions of vectors of resulting torque do not coincide with the poles of step motor. This avoids possible influence of motor magnet system non-linearity (e.g. influence of saturation) and, thus, increase accuracy of single steps.

The presented device favorably differs from the analogous devices by its simplicity and wide functional possibilities. Altogether under all possible phase switching schemes of the m-phase step motor to the corresponding power amplifiers, it provides 4(2m-3) various unipolar and bipolar regimes of phase commutation.
