摘要： A power plant system is disclosed. The power plant system includes a combustor, a turbine configured to generate electricity, a carbon capture system configured to remove at least a portion of carbon-based gasses from the flue gas downstream from the combustor, and a thermal storage system including a hot storage unit configured to store heat generated at least by resistively-heated gas at a hot temperature, the hot temperature greater than ambient temperature. The power plant is configured to operate in at least a first mode for storing thermal energy in the thermal storage system and a second mode for releasing the stored thermal energy from the thermal storage system and during the second mode, heat stored in the hot storage unit is transferred to the carbon capture system.

摘要： The invention discloses partial conversion of a hydrocarbon fuel to CO and H2 within a heat exchanger reformer, prior to injection of the fuel into fuel reactor of a chemical looping combustion system, including reforming portion of the fuel used for the chemical looping combustion system in the heat exchange reformer through reaction with steam and/or other suitable gas, or reforming portion of the fuel used for the chemical looping combustion system in the heat exchange reformer through reaction with recycled flue gas. The invention further discloses the use of recycled flue gas, without the use of a heat exchange reformer prior to injection of the fuel into the fuel reactor of a chemical looping combustion system.

摘要： An H2-rich fuel gas stream can be advantageously produced by reforming a hydrocarbon/steam mixture in to produce a reformed stream, followed by cooling the reformed stream in a waste-heat recovery unit to produce a high-pressure steam stream, shifting the cooled reformed stream a first shifted stream, cooling the first shifted stream, shifting the cooled first shifted stream to produce a second shifted stream, cooling the second shifted stream, abating water from the cooled second shifted stream to obtain a crude gas mixture stream comprising H2 and CO2, and recovering a CO2 stream from the crude gas mixture stream. The H2-rich stream can be advantageously combusted to provide thermal energy needed for residential, office, and/or industrial applications including in the H2-rich fuel gas production process. The H2-rich fuel gas production process can be advantageously integrated with an olefins production plant comprising a steam cracker.

摘要： A method for online monitoring and determining the calorific value of a solid fuel that is currently combusted in a boiler that comprises a combustion chamber (10) with a steam production system, to which the solid fuel is fed from at least one mill (13) connected to a hopper (14), characterised in that the method comprises the following steps: on-line measuring the operational data of the boiler and of at least one mill during the operation of the boiler; collecting the historical data of measurements of the calorific value of the solid fuel and the operational data of the block; calculating the energy balances of the steam production system based on the collected historical data; iteratively determining (207-212) the efficiency of the boiler based on historical data by: determining (208) sets of mill characteristics depending on a calorific value of the solid fuel and operational data of the mill while combusting that solid fuel; determining (210) the fuel mass flux based on the set of mill characteristics (208); determining (211) the actual calorific value of the fuel (LHV) for the historical data; training a model (407) based on artificial intelligence algorithms to predict the calorific value using the historical data of fuel calorific value (211) and measured operational data of the boiler; determining (408) in real time, using the trained model, the calorific value of the solid fuel that is currently combusted.
