    • 【課題】 津波の怖ろしさを学習し、被災時の対応についての予備知識を得るために、軽度の疑似津波を体験させることは非常に役立つと思われるが、大きな危険が伴い、精神的や肉体的なショックを受けたり、軽度の疑似津波にも耐えられなくて、転倒したり、骨折したり、最悪の場合溺死してしまう危険性があるため、そのような危険を避け、安全に疑似体験させる必要があった。 【解決手段】 軽度の疑似津波体験であっても、それを体験し避難の難しさを学ばせようとすると、大規模な装置となり大きな危険が伴うので、精神的、肉体的なショックを受けたり、転倒したり、骨折したりする危険を避けるために、安全に疑似体験させる工夫を行う。特に精神的なショックに対しては、医師もしくは同等の知見を持つ者のチェックを経て、体験する内容(実モデルを使った疑似津波の体験か、ビデオ学習に止めるか、写真学習に限定するか)を決めて、その決定に基づき、的確に運用する。又、被験者の安全を守るために、防護柵を2重以上に設ける。更には、設備上部から提供されるハーネス等の補助器具も避難用に利用できるようにする。

    • The present invention includes a skateboard arena simulating an urban landscape, comprising a course including a number of structures used for skateboarding tricks; and a mechanism for electronic real-time scoring of skateboarding tricks performed by a competitor during at least one run on the course. Each structure simulates a feature of an urban landscape. A method for a skateboard competition, comprises starting with a plurality of competitors in a qualifying round. Each competitor is electronically scored each in real-time based on tricks performed. The competitors for a final round are determined. The final round competitors are electronically scored in real-time based on tricks performed and a winner of the competition is declared.

    • An at least partially contained, reduced weight (PCRW) plant growth medium, providing a sand/soil matrix including a sand/soil mixture in which plants can grow. The sand/soil matrix preferably includes sand/soil displacement structures proximate a plurality of isolated locations where the uninterrupted sand/soil depth in that zone is less than in a first set of isolated locations. The sand/soil displacement structures having a weight per unit area that is less than the weight per unit area of the sand/soil mixture, thereby reducing the weight of the growth medium, while still providing a suitable sand/soil profile for plant growth. A building structure, a spectator pavilion and a modular plant growth system including such a PCRW plant growth medium, or a plurality thereof, are also disclosed as are methods of building a reduced weight green space on a roof of a building structure.

    • The object of the invention is a recreational and utility building intended to arrange painting and art galleries, promotion and information showrooms, cafés, restaurants, while providing a scenic as well as learning opportunity for groups of visitors to experience a balloon rise over a given neighbourhood. The horizontal cross-section of the building according to the invention (Fig. 1) is in form of a ring shaped as an equilateral triangle, and the sides of such triangle constitute convex arcs directed outwards and reaching beyond the vertexes of such triangle, thus forming a ring of three intersecting segments (1, 2 and 3); while a free space (P) surrounded by such a building serves as a shelter/landing place for a balloon (4) tied-up with a basket (5). There are at least three masts (6, 7 and 8), each of them higher of the building, spaced alongside the perimeter of such building and functioning as guideways for ropes (9, 10 and 11) that connect the balloon (4) tied-up with the basket (5) - with hoisting winches (W). Over the free space (P) serving as a shelter and landing place for the balloon (4) tied-up with the basket (5) there is a sliding roof (12) consisting of three moving panels drawing apart simultaneously: (S1, S2 and S3), and each panel consists of three overlapping leaves (A, B and C). The individual stories (K) are interconnected by moving inclined sidewalks (L).
